Feng
Shui (pronounced Fung Shoy or Feng Shway) is an ancient and noble art of creating
harmony within our lives and buildings by harnessing the "auspicious" benefits
of natural energy. Feng Shui balances the energy of property and links into the
people who occupy that property. It aims to balance both the building and the
external environment.
Feng Shui is useful during
your whole lifetime - it is just as beneficial for adults as it is for children
and babies.
There are two types of energy,
one that permeates up through the fabric of the building and another that blows
in through the doors of the building. The flow of qi (Chi or energy) around the
building should be gentle and flowing. Anything that affects the flow and creates
turbulance will have an effect on the property and the people within.
Yin
and Yang are types of energy where Yin is passive and Yang is active. Feng
Shui practices aim to create a balanced and harmonious environment by using the
necessary balance of Yin and Yang features, colours and textures.
