What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui (pronounced Fung Shoy or Feng Shway) is an ancient and noble art of creating harmony within our lives and buildings by harnessing the "auspicious" benefits of natural energy. Feng Shui balances the energy of property and links into the people who occupy that property. It aims to balance both the building and the external environment.

Feng Shui is useful during your whole lifetime - it is just as beneficial for adults as it is for children and babies.

There are two types of energy, one that permeates up through the fabric of the building and another that blows in through the doors of the building. The flow of qi (Chi or energy) around the building should be gentle and flowing. Anything that affects the flow and creates turbulance will have an effect on the property and the people within.

Yin and Yang are types of energy where Yin is passive and Yang is active. Feng Shui practices aim to create a balanced and harmonious environment by using the necessary balance of Yin and Yang features, colours and textures.

"I first came for treatment after reading an article in the Daily Mail. I was in a mess having had agoraphobia for two years. I had been through all the usual channels of doctors, counsellors and medication.

After speaking to you, the next challenge was how to get to see you. Your advice was invaluable, and I made it! I allowed myself to be taken into the little warm haven of your clinic, and I remember the comfort of being there. I remember feeling safe, and that was the beginning of my recovery.

Each time I came I seemed to move on, and sometimes I galloped on. I started to notice things around me and actually start to find myself again. I can't believe how far I have travelled. It has been a joy to return to life and I have learnt so much that has enriched me. I can now go out and about as I want and am even learning how to do this myself with you. Thanks for everything."
