Having suffered from pmt for many years I have tried various
prescribed drugs none of which really had any positive effects.
On my last visit the doctor suggested I tried Prozac (as she thought
I was depressed) which I took for about three months. Although
there was some improvement in my mood (obviously!) the other symptoms
remained and these, accompanied with some rather disturbing side
effects, prompted me to go back to my doctors yet again. The final
words from my doctor were "if you don't want to take drugs
you will just have to put up with the symptoms." I was a
bit miffed by this remark and came out of the doctors wondering
what to try next.
A friend at work said she had been having Gentle Touch Reflexology
for her condition and she felt that it had helped her. As soon
as I could I made an appointment and went along for my treatment.
Tracey, the reflexologist, was lovely and very easy to talk to.
I felt she really listened to what I was saying. She worked gently
through my feet and it felt wonderful! I literally felt like I
was floating out of the clinic - walking on air - but not before
I had booked another session.
I continued having regular treatments over the next few months
which helped to alleviate some of the pmt symptoms I had previously
been suffering. During this time I decided that I would like to
find out a bit more about how reflexology works so I mentioned
this to Tracey. She suggested I look at Sue Rick's website and,
hey presto, here I am on the Practitioner Diploma Course studying
to become a reflexologist!
