What is the course?

This Two Day Course is designed to teach practitioners and therapists the essentials about Hot Stone Therapy and how to use it effectively, safely and successfully.

Hot Stones are used within massage and also as an addition for reflexologists. The stones can be used for a full body treatment or within a reflexology treatment.

Hot stone therapy is a wonderful enhancement to any traditional massage techniques. Warmed stones that are created from cooling molten lava are used to relieve strains and stress from the body. This is soothing for both the client and practitioner!

The gentle heat creates a deep relaxation. And can be beneficial for both physical and emotional conditions. This is fast becoming a very popular therapy.

What will I learn?

The course consists of:

  • History of stone massage
  • Application of techniques
  • Indications / contraindications
  • Hot & Cold comparison of therapeutic use stones
  • Energy Centres and Meridians
  • Anatomy and Physiology recap of affected areas -(prior knowledge needed)
  • Safe Equipment used
  • Setting up your work area
  • Related health & safety issues
  • Assessment & Evaluation

Please bring the following:

  • Two large towels
  • Two small towels
  • Two pillows with pillowcases
  • One flat single sheet
  • One additional pillowcase

all for use during the practical sessions.
