equipment is provided?Everything you need to train to become a
Practitioner in Reflexology is provided by the School. This includes all materials,
student manual, anatomy and physiology book, course notes, and much more.
The School is fully equipped with specialist practitioner
therapy chairs for both patient and student comfort. These
are also available for students to purchase at a discounted
price.
Note: any manuals/notes will be provided electronically
by email.
How will I learn and what support is provided?Home
study will be set on a regular basis, and in addition, practical work must
be done on family and friends. Detailed case histories and studies are to be kept
for each client and notes recorded of treatments. These are to submitted to the
Course Tutor for assessment. Before the Examinations a minimum of
sixty (60) treatments, to include six detailed case studies, plus three detailed
client studies must be completed presented and accepted. Both examination bodies
require these to be submitted, however you may use the same case studies etc for
both examinations. The home study is an essential part of the course
work. Students will only be entered for the Examinations if they have attended
the necessary course dates and satisfactorily completed
all set written work. To help students understand what it is like to work
in a clinic environment all students have the opportunity of Clinic Days
where they work with Sue in her clinic both observing treatments and treating
clients. This also gives students a chance to understand the other important aspects
of running a business. This is not offered on many other courses. An
ongoing helpline supports students as they are studying and will continue
to support the successful graduate by giving help with any queries and offering
advice as required to all graduates of the School. Once students have qualified
and achieved their Diploma in Gentle Touch Reflexology they are also given
a license entitling them to use the name of Gentle Touch. How
do I qualify?Students can apply to take either or both optional examinations*
upon satisfactory completion of study work and attendance. The examinations consist
of a written paper, an oral and a full practical for both separate examinations.
An outside examiner adjudicates for both the AoR/ AQA and ICM / BRCP examinations.
All successful candidates receive a Practitioner Diploma which entitles
the recipient to apply for full membership of the British Register of Complementary
Practitioners (MBRCP), with the Institute of Complementary Medicine
(ICM). Students can also sit the examination with the Association of
Reflexologists (AoR). This entitles successful graduate to apply to the Association
to become a member of the Association of Reflexologists (MAR). All students
therefore have the opportunity to gain two highly recommended qualifications
at the same time. Both examinations usually take place within 10 days of each
other (allowing you to revise once for two examinations and gain two qualifications
at the same time). *Students are encouraged to sit the examination(s)
although they are not compulsory for those who wish to learn for personal interest
only. Back > |
